Here is the paper written for AL 6110, Phonetics and the Teaching of Phonology, in the spring of 2012. I have chosen to include this paper as it fulfills the requirement of an additional research paper, and demonstrates my strengths in preparation to teach learners with different L1 backgrounds. The paper includes my research and an explanation of phonetic sound patterns in both Spanish and English. There are also several pronunciation activities that teachers can use to help Spanish speakers who are learning English. The reflection I have written for this paper is included in Theory and Issues in the Field.
